Hello. Harmony is the name, blogging is the game. I’m a (gasp) 30ish Mom on a mission to love the unloved into relationship with Jesus.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Skyler, and this year we celebrated our 12th Anniversary! Skyler has a huge heart for ministry and is hands down the greatest guy ever (And no, he didn’t pay me for such a shining endorsement, though I can be compensated in cheesecake or chocolate. Just sayin…). We just welcomed our son, Ransom Levi, to the world on August 26th, 2011. To say we’re overjoyed would be the understatement of the millennium.
I have the most amazing job at Key Ministry. I am the Director of Ministry Advancement and absolutely adore my amazing team mates and the incredible board we serve with! Our mission is to help churches serve people affected by disability. Though we offer FREE training on a wide range of topics relative to Inclusion Ministry, we specialize in helping churches better understand how to serve kids with “hidden disabilities”. What’s a “hidden disability”? Good question. These kids are dealing with stuff that isn’t outwardly apparent such as Autism, ADHD, aggression, and other mental health issues. We’re passionate about people coming into relationship with Jesus and realizing that they have a role to play in advancing the kingdom (and we mean EVERYONE!). I believe God has put a very clear call on my life to be on a mission to reach these families. I get pretty passionate about this stuff and if you stick around this bloggity blog I’m sure you’ll see that.
All in all I’m smack dab in the middle of some amazing stuff and am daily overwhelmed that the God of the universe would use a simpleton like me. It’s pretty ridiculous but I’m deeply thankful. I hope to leave a legacy for my kids that shows a reckless pursuit of the King. Game on. Here’s to changing the world…..let’s get started!
